Tools Needed For Laying Tile!

Laying ceramic tile is a task that requires planning.
Once you have prepared the surface you need to
assemble all the tools you will need for your tile
laying project.

Here's a checklist of the tools you needed:
Tape Measure
Pencil or Marker Pen
Level
Chalk Line
2 Buckets (one for thin set, other for grout)
Tile Spacers
Notched Trowel
Margin Trowel
Margin Float
Grout Flout
Sponge (one that has a firm round edge)
Scrub Pad
Mixer Bar
Mixing Drill

Tile Nippers or Wet Saw (Rent a wet saw if you don't
want to go to the expense of buying)

Tile Cutter (Again rent one if you do not wish to buy
your own)

Now that you've got all your tools together the first task is to carefully measure the area you want
to tile. Then calculate the number of tiles you will need. Always add on an extra 10 to 15% to allow
for cutting errors, waste and spares.

Of course if you are going to use accent or border tiles then you need to think about where they
are going to go and how many of these you will need. Then it's time for a shopping trip to buy the
tiles and other materials you will need for laying ceramic tile. When buying your mortar and grout
make sure it is suitable for the room you will be tiling.
